“A Thousand Bad Times” sees Post lamenting the failed relationships of his past, and wallowing in the idea that his situation won’t improve in the near future. Despite this melancholy tone, Post told Spotify that he sees the song as a general message of perseverance, encouraging the listener to fight through their hardest times to get to better circumstances.
Following its release, the song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #29.
