'Partyman' is a pop/funk/dance song by Prince from the soundtrack album 'Batman', released in 1989. It was the second single released from the album, and it was a hit in both sides of the Atlantic. The song is one of the few on the album that is prominently featured in the film– during the famous scene in which the Joker and his minions gleefully desecrate the Gotham City Art Museum and threaten Vicki Vale.
The song burned up several charts. It hit #45 on the 'Dance Music/Club Play Singles' chart, #21 on the 'Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles' chart, #5 on the 'Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks' chart, and #18 on the 'The Billboard Hot 100'. Prince also created an innovative music video for the song, which features himself masquerading as the Joker.
