Biography
There are at least Two artists under this name.
1) Protean is a black metal project, founded back in 2013th by two well known latvian metal underground personalities - Jānis Krivāns (ex-Moonveil, ex-Urskumug) on bass and programming and Edmunds Vizla (Frailty) on guitars. Later joined by Jānis Bušs(Eschatos, Grondh, ex-Ocularis Infernum) on lead vocals, Edgars Gultnieks(Eschatos, Grondh) on guitars and Dmitry Suhanovsky (Mayla, Asthma, Begotten, ex-Sacramental) on session drums. The music of Protean is a mixture of black metal with epic industrial and orchestral notes. The songs deal with themes of history, warfare, legends and folk tales.
In the end of the year 2015th, the band released their debut album – The burning Centuries.
2) Protean (James Andrews) is a trance producer from New Zealand, associated with the Kog Transmissions label.
