This album is great, the hate feels unwarranted. It has a few duds on it but there's quite a few really strong tracks

I've warmed to this album. I think it suffered due to comparison with its predecessor Like Clockwork (which was outstanding). Now that we have In Times New Roman to compare it to (which after repeated listens still does little for me), Villains got treated harshly in retrospect.

Very good after couple times of listening. As time went on, I fell in love with this album even more. P.S. Wolf Like Me, Season 1, Episode 4, 00:15:00 - 00:15:10

I think I'm finally getting this album. When it came out I was hugely disappointed and didn't like how it sounded. This lead me to take a break from the band in general. But I just came back to it and it's much better than I remembered. Still their weakest album in my opinion, but definitely enjoyable.

The criticism to this album makes no sense at all, this is just as good as any other QOTSA album. The production here is absolutely fantastic, it's like a free buffet with the best tones and sounds you want in a rock record. Villains is not a grower, it's instantly amazing.

Michael Schuman did such a amazing job with the bass on this. Evil as Landed being a obvious hiighlight.

Can't get into this one. The production doesn't help... where's the crunch and power in the drums and bass? Thanks for nothing Mark Ronson.

Grower for sure. Reminds me of how I dismissed Like Clockwork at first because it was too different but I find myself returning to Villains more and more as time passes. I don't think this is their best album but there are some really awesome moments here. Domesticated Animals is probably my favorite from this album.

Somehow this album was more memorable when listening to it w/ the Boneface alt. tracklist order than with the normal one. I've listened to it with the normal tracklist order maybe three times, and every time I forgot what every song save for Feet Don't Fail Me sounds like. With the Boneface track order, though, the album as a whole was significantly more memorable. It's kinda weird, honestly. I always knew that the ordering of the tracks on an album can make it more ENJOYABLE to listen to all the way through, but I never thought it could make it more memorable, too. Feet Don't Fail Me, Domesticated Animals, Head Like a Haunted House and The Evil Has Landed sound like rock songs too me.

Definitely a grower. I didn't quite enjoyed it as much when it first came out. I was a bit tad unsure, but then it clicked with me after a few listens. Different, yet familiar. You'll love it if you've stuck with Queens all these years.

Чет далеко не сразу зашел, далеко не сразу. Неплохой в целом, но если сравнивать с тем же ...Like Clockwork - небо и земля.

I could be alone here, but does anyone else think this album would be way better with more dynamic mixing/production? Everything just sounds so flat to me in comparison to other QOTSA albums.

QOTSA's quality has always been all over the map, but Yeesh. I think they finally laid an egg.

To me, it has a lot of flaws, but it was ok. Not great, not amazing, not perfect like "...like clockwork" was for me, but good on the overall.

i needed the perfect mixture of Era Vulgaris experimentalism and Lullabies to paralyse dark fairytale style, maybe with some Deaf aggressiveness. what i got was another dad rock album after the bland light Like Clockwork.

Great album. We are lucky to have Josh, he is one of the greatest musicians out there.
