Mannnnnn this album is fuzzy AF. Really wild to listen to after Automatic For The People. But rad!

Will finally get my hands on the re-issued vinyl November 1! A double-vinyl which marks the 25th Anniversary. Original copies from 1995 were always so elusive and expensive.

Random thought, but I always thought of this album having two halves, with the first half ending with Bang and Blame. The first half is great but the second half might be some of the greatest tracks the band ever wrote.

This album is perfect in my eyes but I agree from Band And Blame onwards this album just gets even better. Circus Envy is underrated.

I've always loved this, I don't get the hate. I love the fuzzy, distorted guitars of this and New Adventures. What a great nod to 70s glam rock! This and New Adventures are probably in my top 5 favorite R.E.M. albums.

Always liked it a good deal as well. In fact when I was younger and the album first came out it was the first R.E.M. record I really liked because I was mostly into more Rock-oriented music exclusively at that time and couldn't really get into the earlier, janglier/folkier type stuff that most people consider(ed) to be the real/classic R.E.M. As I got older I grew to appreciate some of the earlier stuff as well but this has remained a favorite from them.

new adventures has some great songs (e-bow the letter is perhaps my favourite rem song) but it's hit and miss for me, monster is a lot more consistent i think..

Love this album. And it's cool to see just how much more people enjoy it now than when it came out.

Certainly requires more effort to listen to their their early work...and that's why it's so valuable. All sorts of great sounds here.

One of their stranger and more experimental offerings but excellent at the same time, don't understand the hate it gets off some people

Monster is so underrated it hurts. [4] Truth. I've never understood the hate. What's not to love? It's a cohesive and inspired reinvention with solid tracks from start to finish. Loved it since 1995 and always will.
