‘Please Don’t Touch’ is the second single off of Raye’s fourth EP, Euphoric Sad Songs, following 2019’s ‘Love Me Again’. The song describes her vulnerability in a relationship and falling for someone who she knows won’t return the same feelings. She draws reference to the line in ‘Love Me Again’ – “Lyin’ on the bathroom floor — No idea, in a pool of my tears what i’m doin’ this for”.
“Don’t want to be calling you 3 AM, begging you, baby, to love me again” – Please Don’t Touch.
Acorrding to RAYE: "Please Don’t Touch is when you’ve got to the point where you’re like “alright, I know what I don’t want, and I don’t want to feel like this any time again soon”. It’s when you begin to rebuild your walls, you know. I remember writing it and feeling really empowered, you know. Like, don’t touch me if you don’t mean it. I think it’s just a really powerful song about taking back ownership over your body, of your heart, of your mind, and being like “I’m now gonna control letting you in or not, and I’m not letting you in anymore”. It’s a powerful song in aspect of taking back the reign."
