Biography
Ran Nir is a Berlin-based Israeli indie folk and rock singer-songwriter and, multi-instrumentalist & music producer. He was a founding member of the Israeli group Asaf Avidan and the Mojos from 2006 to 2011 and LNFT from 2012 to 2018.
Obsession is his debut album, released in 2021. The album features a mix of folk and rock influences, with lyrics exploring love, loss, and identity themes. The title track, "Obsession," is a catchy and upbeat song that showcases Shira's vocal range and style. Shira has cited Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Tom Waits as his main musical inspirations, and their influence can be heard throughout the album. Shira has said that he was introduced to music by listening to Nirvana's Nevermind CD as a child, which profoundly impacted him.
Shira has performed in various venues and festivals in Israel and abroad and has received positive reviews from critics and fans alike. Shira is considered one of the Israeli music scene's most promising and original artists. His second album, Greener Pastures, was released in 2022.
