Biography
Rare Books is the pseudonym for songwriter Efrain Calderon. Previously recording under his own name, and also going by "Calderon" briefly, Rare Books is a revolving cast of collaborators and contributors with Efrain as an anchoring member.
A New Jersey native, Efrain released the Rough EP on November 23, 2011 which collects three songs recorded in a New Jersey park in July 2011. This can be downloaded at www.rarebooksmusic.com
Influences include: Neutral Milk Hotel, Harry Nilsson, Elliott Smith, John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band, Higgins, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and The Delta Spirit.
