"ALL OF MY FRIENDS ARE GOING TO HELL" is the lead single off of Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter's debut album "SAVED!" The song marks a departure from Kristin's former project, Lingua Ignota. Kristin writes the following on Instagram about the song and its associated video:
"While SAVED! is a record meant to be heard in full, the first single “All Of My Friends Are Going To Hell” is a cheeky little apocalyptic Christian separatist morality tale, a fire and brimstone saga inspired by Louvin Brothers tunes like “The Christian Life.” It is performed on piano prepared with bells and chains. Incidentally it is not actually about any of my friends. The Billy Sunday inspired video is composed of two one-shot takes imposed over each other through analog projection in my basement, which is the site of this record, and was directed and edited by me with shooting assistance from my dearest Kyle, who, anecdotally, stepped in to save my life after I was swept away in the current of the river immediately after we finished filming. PSA: Don’t shoot a video at the confluence of two rivers during a flash flood warning."
