Easily their best album to date. The solos, riffs, songwriting, vocals. Just ungodly level of good. Only things that come close are Terato, Existence, and maybe The Outer Ones.

Do they really have a bad album, though? I also think the S/T is their weakest, but it's still a kickass album.

I have to say, I think Scorched Earth Policy is my favorite song they have ever written. The fast thrash rhythm, the insane tapping solo in the intro, the crazy, fast, techy, proggy second half. Just mind-blown every time I listen to it. Their drummer really stepped it up on this album. He was always good, but he really goes over the top with some fine hand-work.

After listening to it a lot since my last comment I have to admit it's definitely growing on me and there are a few songs that sound amazing though, still not convinced that it's better than their previous work, need to listen to it more for that, haha

@forfrosne - I agree 100% (great job describing the album). Production is stellar. This album kind of sounds like the logical follow-up to Teratogenesis, which I thought was their best effort. The Self Titled had a couple good songs like The Hive, and Invidious, but was pretty lackluster overall. Deathless is righteous from start to finish. The teaser Madness Opus is actually my least favorite track on the album, so when I heard the stream (multiple times now), I was definitely impressed the rest was faster, and better than the teaser.

@stagepotato this is the only Revocation album that's given me the "wow feeling" on the first listen, and it's stayed with me. The album has been available to stream in full for a while now mate even if we don't include the leak yesterday. Chaos was a good album, and sure Teratogenesis was awesome, but I think this album tops them. A big part of the reason for that is the production IMO.

@forfrosne: The album just got out, you probably listened to it once and you're already saying it's their best album to date? Existence, Chaos & Teratogenesis were masterpieces, every Revo fan knows that. Their self-titled was also pretty amazing, I'm just getting into Deathless and although it is pretty good I'm still not getting that "wow feeling" that I had with their previous albums.

This is probably their best album to date. It's their darkest and heaviest, and the songs are just better written in my opinion. They just flow better, the solos are still crazy and amazing but they don't feel out of place. The riffs are heavy and complex while being incredibly melodic. And Dave's vocals just continue to improve as well with some great growls and interesting use of Mastodon-esque clean vocals on tracks like Deathless. It also has the best production of any of their releases, it feels organic and fresh, less claustrophobic and sterile than, say, their self-titled. This one will probably be going on my end-of-year list, thoroughly enjoyed this.
