Last Chance Texaco is such a brilliantly written memoir, her mind truly amazes me!

she is CRIMINALLY underrated 🥺 Living It Up is kind of one of the most expertly crafted pop songs of the 80s

I am appreciating her other songs other than Chucky's in Love. You can't beat that little ditty. She sings with soul and heart. Where is she now?

Strange how 'On Saturday Afternoons in 1963', a tender little meditation on being a kid and learning to stop time has reached double the listens of her second most popular song on last.fm. It was not, as you can imagine, a hit in '79 (obviously the song's new-found success is due to its unlikely appearance on season 1 of a certain small screen medical drama), but it did come out as a single back in the day - on the B-side of Chuck E.'s in Love!

I finally got to see her. She performed "Rickie Lee Jones" and "Pirates" in their entirety. She was amazing.

I just saw Rickie in Seattle over the weekend at The Triple Door. She was terrific. Her voice sounds better than ever. Rickie's still making beautiful music. Check out the new album - it's some of her best work.

RLJ is one of my favorites. She was the precursor to Sheryl Crow. As a matter of fact, from the first time I heard Sheryl Crow, I've always maintained she was a Rickie Lee Jones ripoff. I do have to give Sheryl her props, though. She ripped off RLJ and then did what RLJ couldn't do, i.e., become a commercial success. I do wish RLJ would tour in the Heartland, though. It would be nice to see her in concert without having to travel to either coast!
