Same Ol' Mistakes is a song originally performed by Kevin Parker's musical project Tame Impala for its third studio album Currents (2015) under the title "New Person, Same Old Mistakes", the album's final track. It was re-recorded by Rihanna and released as the ninth track of her eighth studio album ANTI (2016). It consists of Tame Impala's instrumental, extended to a length of 6 minutes and 35 seconds.
Parker's team issued a statement to NME about Rihanna’s cover: "The Roc Nation team got in touch with us here at Spinning Top letting us know that Rihanna heard and loved the song. They asked if she could cover the song for her new record. Kevin was more than happy to send it her way. We’re all really happy with how the song turned out, love it!"
