Comparing this version with the original version I prefer the original, I think the guitar solo really makes a difference. Not comparing it with the original, thinking of it as a new song: It's dark, haunting song and sure worth listening. I'm not sure if it would have fitted into the wall album in this version as the wall is more rock orientated. There are other songs in The Wall which - imho - only "work" in the album context (examples: the trial or bringing the boys back home) but this version "works" better as a stand alone album.

I loved seeing and hearing this on the tour, but let's be real...this has nothing on the original version.

People think that this version of Comfortably Numb is boring without the guitar solos but honestly, I really like this version of the song. I love how Roger Waters dropped it down to an A minor because it really does make it feel darker and eerier (I know this is what he wanted but regardless). I also love the occasional singing by the female backup singers. Their voices are beautiful and add exactly what I needed in the song. The same goes for the bass line that's in the background throughout the whole song. I've been listening to this song on repeat because it reminds me of when I went to the concert, and it's just so different from the original that it almost feels like a new song completely. The Pink Floyd sound is kind of lost in this version admittedly but I'm not really complaining because it's unique and something different from the rest of the songs on the track list and on Roger Water's discovery page.
