The Ballet Bag was the first release by Rubella Ballet and to be different the band decided to release a cassette in a goody bag as it seemed a good idea at the time. So with the backing of Xntrix Records they single handedly manufacured the whole product apart from the tape & the bag.
The booklet was designed, printed and collated by the band because it was the cheapest option to get Rubella Ballets music out there, the poster was designed and printed by the band…..badges were even designed, printed and manufactured by the band….and it was all printed in the Poison Girls printing room at Burleigh House in Epping…..getting ink all over the place on an old drum printer with a big handle that Poison Girls used to use to print all of their artwork like 'The Statment'.
Rubella Ballet were really showing there individuality very early on and thirty years on are still supprising audiences with their non conformism.
