aespas version is great and gives this song a new vibe but i just cant get over the nostalgia and almost mystical melancholy of this original version

yeah even tho there's a b/p phoneme in Korean alphabet I thought it wouldn't be difficult for them to pronounce it🤭but that's fine kpop wasn't globalized back then so that's not a thing

love the mv so much and the fact that its remastered!! i mean this is obviously one of those past works that post-internet nostalgia run seekers r referencing & recreating & harking back to, but at the same time the remastered is in a way recreating this too w this brush up, retouches in a way that will make it feel dated but at the same time new, it is both past & future, a style resembles the style that references its original, its like it added to the aesthetic referencing it, whether wittingly done or not. also, this looks very similar to perfume genius' mv for pygmalions ugly season! anw, w post internet in perspective, this differs so much in tone and aura of what the style is commonly used to convey, and ik its an old song but honestly this is so refreshing to see?!? light & airy voices within (what is now) bad graphics instead of the meditative, hurt, ironic, & unserious?? i didnt know i need that, hazy/bubblegum-sounding/dreampop post internet music needs to be a thing (again)

maybe the reason i dont feel nostalgic w this is bc i didnt grow up w this song (only heard this when im already adult) and it definitely affected how i saw and related this to a new aesthetic that branched off its culture instead, also w why i found this refreshing bc its not lingering on memory and grief unlike works that shaped the (sub)genre

i guess the thread where i already answered was deleted but generally, mvs made in the 90s were meant to look good on crt tvs w/ 4:3 aspect ratio, so when you blow them up and put them into 16:19 a lot of implied detail you get with crt tvs is lost, while cg that wasn't meant to be seen in such clear detail looks even worse. for this mv in particular the transition lost a lot of the misty fairy forest vibe to instead make everything look crisp and clean and more artificial, especially the fairy wings, the cg towards the end, and the weird glowy bloom filter they had to put over the members made it not translate well, especially if you're someone (like me) who actually watched the non-remastered version quite a lot lol

It’s so hypnotic, like I can listen to it 20 times in a row without realizing the time that has passed
