Such A Mess is a Pop Punk band from San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles. S.A.M. first started as a side project of Nikola "Niko" Simikic and Sebastian Egurvide between playing sets for their regular bands. Their intention was to do something in the vein of New Found Glory, Set Your Goals and old school Fall Out Boy. Later, the two decided to take the project more seriously, recruiting good friends Omar Loera, and Joseph "Jojo" Galvez to form a quartet in 2010. They released their first song "Times Like These", September 23, 2010. On December 17, 2010, the band released a second song, "Crabcore Sounds Like A Sushi Dish" as well.

Such A Mess spent the next year writing and recording their debut EP "Times Like These" and finally released it with much anticipation on December 13th, 2011. During the build up for the release, the summer prior they filmed a music video for lead single "Times Like These" and released it September 12th, 2011. That went on to garner them many new fans from around the world, and hearing from fans that their songs were being played in clubs and college radio stations throughout the US, UK, Europe, Japan, etc. With this news they decided to keep the momentum going and released a split with Meaning In Masterpiece on Sandcastle Records, which saw a release on May 1st 2012. Soon after, William Ramos quit the band for personal reasons, and Omar Loera 2 months later quit to join up and coming pop punk band Stanley and the Search. After Ramos quit, Nikola quickly recruited Mark Reynolds to join, and replacing Loera was Derek Fematt. With this lineup the band quickly entered the studio again to record 2 new songs with intentions of holding on to for a future release. Such A Mess announced they would be playing the WARPED TOUR on June 19th 2012 with a headlining show the day after, and told fans it would be the last weekend of shows founding member Nikola Simikic ever played with the band. Nikola wrote a blog explaining he was leaving on good terms with the band in order to pursue his career, and that the 2 songs they were in the process of recording were his last efforts with the band. William Ramos re-joined the band to replace Nikola, and they decided to release the 2 songs titled "Burning Sails" and "JAB" in the Fall of 2012 to hold fans over while writing a new record. The band has hinted that they are filming a music video for "JAB" (a particularly emotional song bout the unfortunate passing of dear friend Jacob Aaron Burns) with Nikola directing.
