Biography
Hailing from the Celtic Isle that brought us Van Morrison, Gary Moore, Paul Brady & Snow Patrol hails unassuming songwriter Steve Salters aka Salterszo. born & bred in his hometown of Belfast.
His musical journey began when he picked up the guitar in his early teens and began playing in cover bands everything from Led Zeppelin to Eric Clapton. But playing someone else’s song whilst enjoyable, educational and popular offers little reward to any artist worth their salt if they can’t write that song themselves. So began the transition to songwriter.
Presented here is everything from Steve’s raw fledgling early demos, that whilst lacking the crispness and finesse of professional production, still offer a valid insight into the beginnings of an emerging talent, to professionally produce studio albums. That pilgrimage and quest is here for anyone willing to listen.
Salterszo slots comfortably into the musical genre of soft rock, folk, country & pop. A multi-instrumentalist who has written and performed most tracks himself or co-written with Daryl P Hall. Influences, commutated by age & experience now resemble contemporary heroes of Foy Vance, Van Morrison, Tom Petty, Jackson Brown, Bryan Adams, Ron Sexsmith and classic Americana, bringing to His songs a familiar mixture of guitar and piano driven rock
Salterszo has had songs on the playlists of XRP Radio, Lonely Oak, Radio Segull and other radio stations and been a semi-finalist in the annual UK Songwriting Competition.
