Definitely digging the new instrumental album! I gave the vocal one a listen and its fine, but the instrumental mix is pretty damn impressive. I liked the Ross Jennings vocal track the most. Been listening to the instrumental disc all night. Chris Letchfield is definitely rehashing a lot of previous ideas, but I am just glad the project is still making music. Definitely a thumbs up from me.

Listening to it a few more times, I find it interesting how the more extreme metal moments are the most interesting. Goddess Gate sounds intense as hell when the drums really pick up, but those parts last for maybe 5 seconds, compared to the long prog rock oriented sections. If they decide to forge forwards into a more aggressive style, then this new line-up could work quite well.

It's telling that the best moments on the newest album are from the guest spots...someone said that their albums are rather monotone from one to the other, and I definitely don't hear much added to the core sound past V. Rather, I hear less impressive leads and a bit more focus on rhythms, which makes it lean more towards ambience. Scale the Summit at their most decent are still fantastic though, just concerned that this new core line-up won't have many surprises or build upon V much.

The first two songs were probably the most boring instrumental tracks i have ever heard...after that pure rhapsody, excellent flow...7,5/10

I think you misunderstood. He said the guys wanted a steady salary, while it is impossible for a touring band for which most income comes from what the tour organizers are paying, which in turn depends on how many ppl attend, etc.

Euroblast 2016: Sadly – Scale the Summit have dropped out of this years line-up but we will try to get them back next year!

ok I'm listening to The Migration and so far I love it. I second the above user's comment, this music makes me feel happy in a somewhat nostalgic way.

They had the chops from the very beginning, yet compositional skill is steadily improving

Honestly, their only album that has stuck with me thus far is The Migration. I think it's the jazz influences on the first two albums, still haven't given The Collective a shot. At the least, The Migration is amazing. I recommend fans of these guys also check out Pomegranate Tiger: http://pomegranatetiger.bandcamp.com/
