Criminally underrated album. Hard to believe Screaming Trees didn't break through after the great "Nearly Lost You" appeared on the 'Singles' soundtrack. That song is of course on this album but it's not even the best thing on here.

Screaming Trees would've been all over the radio and MTV if there were any justice in the world. This is what "Alternative Rock" should aspire to sound like.

Right behind Uncle Anesthesia for me. This has some of their best songs. Winter Song, Troubled Times, Julie Paradise, Shadow of the Season, and Dollar Bill are fantastic.

Superb album from start to finish. I saw them live on the Sweet Oblivion Tour and they totally rocked. One of the best gigs of my life :o)

This album is one of the best throughout the 90s up there with Temple of the dog and beats Mother Love Bone by a good shot.

Along with Paw's Dragline, this is probably the finest Grunge record ever made. Even though calling this beautiful music Grunge is akin to an insult. It is so accessible, and yet does not fall short on content or style. It's simply...beautiful. Beautiful and moving. Lanegan's voice is angelic, and perfectly suited to the sound the band puts out.
