Scribble was the solo vehicle of Johanna Piggott with assistance from Todd Hunter. Todd Hunter is better known as the brother of the late Marc Hunter and, alongside his brother, member of Dragon. Piggott and Hunter met when Hunter joined the XL Capris in 1980 (see here for more on the XL Capris in the ModPopPunk Archives). Scribble debuted with the single Silly Girl in 1983 which also appeared on a self-titled mini-LP. In 1984 Piggott co-wrote the pioneering TV show Sweet and Sour with Tim Gooding. Scribble's final LP Pop Art was released in 1986. While Piggott did not record after that, she continued to write with credits including Age Of Reason, which she co-wrote with Hunter. Piggott and Hunter also wrote the TV show Headstart.

Scribble were a '90s indie rock band from Portland, OR, releasing a split 7" with Sissyface on the Cravedog label in 1995. Their sound was similar to Superchunk, Treepeople/Built To Spill, etc.
