Biography
Sean Mackin is the violinist and backing vocalist of Yellowcard. He is part Irish and Japanese.
Mackin has been playing the violin since he was six years old. Before Yellowcard, Mackin had never played with a rock band but was in an orchestra. He became friends with future Yellowcard bandmembers at the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. Before becoming well-known, he and Ryan Key worked at Chili's.
At first, Mackin was only asked to play violin on a few Yellowcard songs by high school friends (and later bandmates) Ben Harper and Longineu Parsons. After that, the band decided to keep Mackin as a permanent member. He has gained fame in Yellowcard concerts for performing backflips and he enjoys listening to classical music, Bach being one of his favorite composers. He is also known by Yellowcard fans as being something of the band's funnyman. Mackin is also known well by his "Mohawk" hair style and his energetic personality during some of Yellowcard's concerts and music videos.
