Biography

It all began many years ago with a game of checkers.
Danny: "This round sucks. I secede."
Chris: "You can't secede. It's called 'concession'. You concede."
Danny: "But isn't 'concession' like the thing at the movies?"
Chris: "Yeah, but it's also like quitting. Secession is to withdraw from a union or nation or something."
Danny: "Dude, someone should make a stand where you can go pay a couple bucks and secede."
And thus Secession Stand was born, not in practice, but in name.

Long story short, Chris and Danny added a few members to the band, learned some cover songs, played at a few neighborhood parties, and promptly disbanded.

Then, one fateful day, way back in 2008, Danny and Chris reunited to unleash glorious Musicks upon the world. Much improvisation and hilarity ensued, and along the way a few new band members were recruited to perform various roles in the creation of the band's full-length debut. Among these were Danny's little brother Dominic, who plays the ukelele and sings, and Chris's little brother Matt, who stands there and smiles creepily. This album is called Lameprov, so named because of its improvisational and admittedly ridiculous nature.

Secession Stand is currently hard at work procrastinating on the creation of their next album, due for release someday in the future.
