"A Sweeter Place" is the thirteenth track from Selena Gomez's third studio album "Rare", featuring guest vocals from rapper Kid Cudi, also included as the eleventh track on the deluxe edition album.
The song is a contemporary R&B collaboration with American rapper Kid Cudi. Both artists sing about wanting to find “a sweeter place” to keep their worries “all away.”
Although it is unclear when the pair first met and decided to collaborate, they took a photo together back in November 3, 2019, at ComplexCon.
Prior to the song’s official release, a snippet of it was heard in the album trailer for her third studio album "Rare" posted to her social media platforms on December 12, 2019.
In an interview with Spotify, Gomez spoke about working with Cudi on the track:
"I’ll never forget my session with Scott—Kid Cudi—because obviously I’m a huge fan… But he definitely took the song that I had and turned it into something unbelievable. It was nothing when I sent him the song."
Cudi responded in a tweet, expressing the same sentiment as Selena had:
"😭🙏🏾❤️ I wont forget it either!! I had the best time!! Thank u for havin me! Love!"
