Biography
Shane Livingston was born August 2, 1989 in Weirton, West Virginia. Being born into a military family, he moved frequently in his first three years of life before settling in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Most of his childhood was spent here, 12 years to be exact. Attending both elementary school and middle school in North Carolina, the next move would come just before beginning high school. With his father retiring from the military, he moved back north to Bridgeport, West Virginia. It was here that he began serious songwriting, and began to perform local shows at cafes and bars. Today, Shane Livingston continues to frequent various locales within the area, while pursuing a more national career in music online.
Shane grew up listening to musicians such as Dave Matthews and John Mayer. But it was after listening to Modest Mouse for the first time that his lyrical style took on a drastic, darker, and truer style. Other influences include The Blues Brothers, Trey Anastasio, Phish, and Jack Johnson; all of whom have had some impact either musically or lyrically.
