Biography
Jacob / "Shard-Life" is a 24-year-old musician/DJ that also makes a living doing photography and graphic design. Currently living in Roswell, New Mexico, he is constantly working to improve his instrumentation, remixing, and producing skills with programs like ACID Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and various online editing programs.
He has also tried his hand in other forms of media, including website design, writing, voice acting, and even modeling. Preferring to try anything to express himself, the main music project, Shard-Life, is still slowly growing. To date, it has a few random fans of both local and online types.
While originally starting in the experimental Electronic / Digital Hardcore field, he's been self-learning guitar and piano to get involved with Trip-Hop, Indie Hip-Hop, and even some Folk and singer/songwriter projects. Namely influenced by classic Jazz and old-school Hip-Hop and Punk music, the falling into DJing / Trance music as DJ SWFTWLF (his other solo project) came from both production credits and those he'd worked with. As once put, " is the only person who would show up to a DJing gig wearing a sleeveless Social Distortion shirt, blasting Brand New from his iPod, then proceed to play Celldweller and Katy Perry remixes within the next few hours."
