i remember hearing songs like m.u.d. and finance as a teenager and feeling so blown away by the realisation that people making savage, viscerally political music about new zealand was a thing that actually existed in the real world. to me they're like a better, politically aware kiwi version of the birthday party. it's encouraging that sam has made some cool shit with his ron gallipoli project, and casey has continued to churn out more and more transgressive mindfuckery under the girls pissing on girls pissing monicker and with diana tribute. 93/93

I prefer Nostalgia Kills to 12 Omeros. They're pretty fucking great nonetheless

Fantastic new song right here, play it more than two times in an hour and you won't be able to stop: http://thecorner.co.nz/2011/05/25/awesome-feeling-5-sharpie-crows-endless-empty-eye/

This world needs some Sharpie Crows karaoke tracks. If none exist, I'll just have to go and goddamned make 'em myself. Best sing-a-long band ever.

woah! modern rock culture / it's like fucking a mattress / it can't even feel me / and all my hatred is wasted, absorbed by a / shag-pile carpet of tepid and / unasked-for pleasantness; // woah! modern rock culture / she's such a bad actress / I can't bear to watch her / she spends all her / money on jewellery dug from the skulls of friends / and she flirts with her / pink-shirted lawyers.

I'll rephrase my previous statement to: the greatest fucking band in this world today. Not to boost their egos or anything, but that is *exactly* what they are. Nothing less.

The following could be hypothetical: I dedicate this song to Marshall H., who tried and failed to destroy my life. If I ever get you alone, I'll finish what I should have done in the first place. Come and get me!
