"Three Empty Words" is the fourth track on Illuminate.
Lyrically, Shawn and his lover have fallen out of love, and while they try to remain together and bring the spark back, what’s lost cannot be found. He’s saying that he is done saying those “three empty words” (being I Love You) as he no longer means them.
