Shuvlhed has been rocking The Northern Illinois Area since 2004. Shuvlhed has set themselves apart from the rest of the local bands as a top contender in the local Rock n Roll arena. Shuvlhed, a powerful 5pc band, brings their unique sound and a stage presence that energizes the audience, with the sounds of Guns N Roses, Metallica, Ozzy, Bon Jovi, Nickelback, Kid Rock, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Ac/Dc, Twisted Sister and Big & Rich to name a few.
Shuvlhed has been a local favorite in the Northern Illinois area and continues to build a wide fan base, hitting clubs & festivals from Rockford to DeKalb to the Western Suburb’s. Shuvlhed the 2008 “New Act” RAMI award winner, went on to be nominated in 2009 under the classic rock category and in 2010 under the Hard Rock category.

Shuvlhed has had the privilege of playing both Spring and Fall Groove Walk’s produced by On the Waterfront Inc, The Young @ Heart Festival, ByronFest, Davis Junction Weekend in the Park, Kirkland 4th of July and Genoa Days.

In May of 2009 Shuvlhed released its long awaited 16 track debut album titled “Never Rest”.
Also in May of 2009 Shuvlhed was selected by 15 judges @ Briggs & Stratton engines in Milwaukee Wisconsin as a top 4 finalist out of almost 800 bands worldwide to compete in the first ever Briggs & Stratton engines online Battle of the Bands. Shuvlhed finished in 3rd place in this national based contest.
The winner went on to play @ Milwaukee’s SummerFest.

Shuvlhed has also made a name for themselves as a band that like’s to give back to their community, as this past August of 2009 Shuvlhed & The Resource Bank teamed up to hold the 4th annual concert fundraiser called “Charity Rocks”, which Shuvlhed created to help local food pantries fill their shelves with food for those who are less fortunate. Since starting Charity Rocks, Shuvlhed has been able to raise over $5900.00 for the Genoa-Kingston, & Kirkland food Pantry’s. Shuvlhed will be teaming up with the Resource Bank again in 2010 for the 5th annual Charity Rocks concert.

For those of you that don’t know, a Shovelhead is a Harley Davidson style engine, however we don't want to confuse anyone as we do spell our name differently than the infamous motorcycle company.
The meaning of Shuvlhed is about a person that has been beaten down all their life, but even in the end , never gave up hope! It is our goal to instill a little bit of Shuvlhed in everyone that gets the chance to see our show. Our hope is that when you leave a Shuvlhed show , you will have felt like you've been empowered and we hope you leave feeling energized! At that point we feel we've met our goal and you will have been forever Shultized! Lucky You!!

We liked our name so much that in 2006 we Trademarked the name Shuvlhed & our Shovel in the Skull logo with the United States Patent & Trademark office. Then in August of 2008 we were handed a lawsuit from a band in Los Angeles California called Shovelhead. They claimed that our trademark would hinder them from obtaining the rights to their name. After months of litigation both bands agreed to coexist together and without any further problem we were able to keep our trademark and they were able to receive theirs.
