Biography

Denver based indie-rockers Silversmith formed in 2012 via Zach Daniels.
-
After a 7 year run with the also Denver-based Roots-Rock/Americana/Bluegrass outfit - Oakhurst - Daniels left to start his own project. As a member of Oakhurst, Daniels participated in several music cruises put on by the production company from Atlanta, Sixthman (http://www.sixthman.net). While participating in those events, Daniels was asked to sit-in on banjo with many of the others acts including several headliners-much to their liking, as well as the liking of many of the fans- including Sixthman.

It was upon his departure from Oakhurst that he approached Sixthman with the idea of coming on the cruises as an "artist at large". Due to his proven ability to meet new bands and rock on the fly with them, Sixthman CEO Andy Levine agreed this was a good idea and gave Zach a shot. Daniels took the ball and ran with it going on to sit in with the likes of Train, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Gaelic Storm, G. Love, Slightly Stoopid, Alpha Rev, Josh Kelley, One eskimO plus many more-all with great reception. Josh Kelley had Zach out on tour with him and the bands Michael Franti and Spearhead, G. Love, and Train contacted Zach for further sit-ins at their shows in Denver- Franti and Spearhead at the 1st Bank Center-G. Love at the Fox Theater for a New Year's Show-and with Train at coveted Red Rocks Amphitheater. AEG Live Rocky Mountain CEO, Chuck Morris watched the performance with Train and hugged Zach with excitement as he left the stage and asked him, "What did you think about THAT?!" Daniels responded, "it was easy till they brought the house lights up!"-in reference to the roaring sold-out crowd that evening.

Enter Clint Lagerberg. Clint is longtime producer, guitar player, and friend of Josh Kelley's. It was through Josh where Clint and Zach met. They became good pals and Daniels asked Clint the likelihood of lending his production skills towards an EP Zach was brewing up. Clint was all about helping out and quoted Zach the number it would cost to get these songs recorded, mixed, and mastered and suggested starting a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign to cover the cost. Zach put together and led a highly-successful Kickstarter campaign, significantly exceeding his intended goal. Zach, his sister Niki, Eric Loomis, and Andrew Clapp flew down to Nashville and knocked out 7 songs in 7 days and now we have Silversmith's first soon-to-be-released EP, "Uncle Microphone".

Leaning towards the rock and roll side of things, Silversmith brings you back for a glimpse at those fleeting moments of Love, Heartache, and Redemption through song.
