back in college i dj'ed for the campus radio station and one time late at night i put on "rabies (baby's got the)" and was absolutely bopping out in the control room when, mr. goody two shoes that i was, every ounce of my being was inundated with existential dread when when the guy sang "you've been bit by the BITCH." i felt fear swell over me that the i was going to be delivered a fine from the fcc for broadcasting a curse word through the radio waves. i had two sleepless nights afterwards. in hindsight, 0% the fcc or anyone else was listening to my show. as for "rabies," still a great song. still induces sheer dread and fear in me.

such an underrated band. the fact that songs like 'half control' don't have even 10 listeners per week is just ridiculous.

I first heard 6FS on the radio: WUNH (University of New Hampshire, Durham), back in the mid-90s. I had such a profound moment that I felt the immediate urge to pull the car over at the nearest gas station to found a payphone (cuz, again, it was the mid-90s). I called the station to find out what that insantity that was. I recall I was in a rural spot, so I had to count songs to tell the DJ exactly what it was, since I lacked the concepts to describe what it was. To this day, I can't recall which exact song I heard. But I went out and bought everything I could the week after. Over 20 years later and this band still blows my mind. Fun fact: here is one other time I can recall pulling the car over to call the station: and it was the first time I heard Wesley Willis' "Rock and Roll McDonalds."

Very adaptive music, cyborg post-punk synth-core is a new tag in my library thanks to this band.

law of ruins is completely alien music (dance-punk? wat, they have more in common with hardcore than that IMO)

This band is so great. Listening to Law of Ruins sober is completely awesome in itself but on weed, alcohol, shrooms, or acid just takes life to a whole new level.

Yeah it's amazing how far ahead of their time they were, how much better they were doing it then most current acts, and also how little recognition they've received. I didn't even hear about them until my drummer from my old band told me about them last year. Better late then never though, this is real hidden treasure.

is there any significance in being the 200th member of the currently euphoric and estrus [group]'pataphysics[/group] group?

By the way everyone, there's a new 6FS record on the way from Loaded records, and they may begin touring around fall-ish.
