I just got reminded by this band, because of one quote from the tv show Lucifer, where he said ''I am so good at flipping men that they call me the skillet.'' It made me laugh, but I've never heard that expression before. Used to listen to this band a bit like 12 years ago.

Oh gotcha. I mean tbh a Christian band hailing from the deep US South being super conservative shouldn't be surprising at all. Christianity and far-right politics go together like peanut butter and jelly (at least in the US) unfortunately. But I totally agree with your sentiment and TPUSA is an absolute joke! Skillet was very much the "gateway drug" for me into metal. Classics like Hero, Monster, Forsaken, their whole collide album very much are nostalgic for me. But their new stuff is just boring. The past 3 albums have been nothing special. And as time has gone on, I've really started to dislike John's vocals.

Wait I'm a little confused and genuinely curious about your comment as a former Christian myself. It sounds like you're talking about the Rapture described in the Bible, in which Jesus comes to take away all the true believers to heaven, and in which case you realize that all the non-Christians are left here on earth to suffer torment and anguish right? You used the term "your God", implying that you're not a Christian, so why on earth (lol no pun intended) would you wish for the Christian rapture to occur if you're not a Christian? It sounds like a horrific experience for all of us left behind so I would never wish for that in a million years lol.

I did write this out of anger and frustration. But maybe the rapture already occurred or happening soon? But no, people these days would rather worship Satan than God.. Christians keep talking about Jesus's return. I'm over 40 now and haven't seen it happen. Also my understanding was Jesus's return would end the suffering and take the unholy back to hell, but maybe you have a different understanding what Jesus's return would accomplish?

As time goes on, more people will come to know Jesus as their savior. God is showing his vast mercy by letting more people come into his rest before the return of Jesus. The purpose of being a Christian is not going to heaven, but spreading his kingdom here on Earth. His return will be a great day, but there is much on Earth that is unaccomplished for his kingdom.

Their lyrics are neutral, not overly preachy which allows the listener to interpret. Despite that they still write their lyrics for God.

Ok here is what I think about Dominion. It is much better than Legendary and even most of Unleashed but this album still falls a bit flat. Standout tracks are Surviving The Game, Dominion, Beyond Incredible, Valley of Death, Ignite. The rest really arent the best.

they really just need to write an album with just hard rock songs, they cant do ballads, its all the same lyrics and topics. Refuge isnt a bad song but theyre at their best when making songs like surviving the game, comatose, whispers in the dark. This band has so much potential but they do not use it well. Also this band is not "revolutionary" what does that even mean.
