Rabies is the fifth studio album by Skinny Puppy, released on November 21, 1989 via Nettwerk. The album is notable for including Al Jourgensen of Ministry, who contributed electric guitars and vocals. Rabies has a much harder sound to it than its predecessors, owing to Jourgensen's influence. While Rabies was a commercial success, it was very divisive among both fans and critics, receiving mixed reviews as a result.
The album spawned two singles, "Tin Omen" and "Worlock", the latter of which becoming one of the band's most iconic songs and considered as "one of the band's better songs" by Ogre.
The original CD release of Rabies had been distributed with a noise reducer accidentally left in, resulting in the album sounding muffled. This issue was later fixed on a later 1993 remaster and re-release of the CD. Both discs were released on Nettwerk.
