Biography
Influenced by a healthy diet of electronica and industrial, Colin C. has spawned quite a few projects over the years, yet none as personal as his SLIGHTER guise. The SLIGHTER sound takes many various shapes, from glitched out breakbeat dance floor fillers (Cyber Recordings, Polytechnic Recordings, Morphosis Records) , to darker industrial soundscapes (as featured in the Lionsgate film "Blood Out").
Colin C. began developing SLIGHTER back in 2004 to rekindle his love for music that didn't fit into a disposable "dance" category. Having previously recorded and penned more industrial and rock oriented work early in his younger years, he felt it was time to embrace his roots and draw from his experiences to blend the old with the new.
His remixes for Los Angeles based punk outfit, Spider Problem launched the SLIGHTER sound into the homes of millions of Americans with the SLIGHTER remix of the band's only single "Cha Cha" which was featured on The People's Choice Awards 2010-2011, MTV, and Comedy Central.
SLIGHTER currently has two full length albums, "The Perfectly Damaged" and "Repetitive Action Junkie", both self released under Colin's own Negative Feedback Ltd. However the more club/DJ oriented versions of his work are released in a partnership with Denver based Polytechnic Recordings, making the intensely energetic side of his work available to DJs worldwide via BeatPort.
