Both are great but I don't know if I'll ever understand how most like MFKR version more. But who knows, my opinion could easily change in the future.

mate. feed. kill. repeat. version is much, much better. it sounds more raw, sincere and not polished like the later version. it has a haunting, unsettling, eerie feeling to it that's hard to explain. two versions are worlds apart. one of my fave songs of all time and one of the first songs i learnt to play with guitar.

My favorite slipknot song for sure call me a fanboy but coreys version is better. Anders doesnt sound serious enough, its hard to explain, he was focusing more on the fact that it was about a video game in my theory. Coreys version is more raw and genuine. If you didnt know, gently was actually a poem written by shawn (clown) the percussionist who has been the only member whos stayed since 1995.

It's a song about a videogame. I mean, it's kinda eery, but it's about a videogame. Dunno, kinda boring. Oh and mfrk > iowa, not bc of "muh hipster old records syndrome", but because it was written by Anders and Shawn with a specific videogame in mind. Corey can't convey that, I think.

Yeah sounds like the usual bandwagon jumping onto early and lesser known albums to demonstrate their superior knowledge and rejection of more popular and well known stuff. Both versions are good. [2]

this song is very emotional and I personally think MFKR is the best slipknot album even though the lyrics are fucked up
