“Your Dog” is the first single released off the Soccer Mommy’s 2018 album "Clean". The song is about the anger and relief of the singer finally admitting she was being used in an emotionally abusive relationship. The music video, released the same day as the song, shows singer Sophie Allison reveling in her murder of her partner (played by her boyfriend, band guitarist Julian Powell): she is shown dancing, drawing on his corpse, and rubbing his blood on her face before she eventually cuddles longingly with his dead body.

In a press release penned upon the release of the song, Allison wrote the following:

"The song comes from a feeling of being paralyzed in a relationship to the point where you feel like you are a pawn in someone else’s world. The song and the video are meant to show someone breaking away and taking action, but at the same time, it’s only a quick burst of motivation. It’s a moment of strength amidst a long period of weakness."

In Rolling Stones' Music Now podcast, Allison said the following about the song:

"That one came from kind of a feeling of being pathetic in relationships and just kind of giving away too much when you’re not even being asked to give that. Just kind of giving too much of yourself into things and wanting to be more of your own person and not make your life about other people."
