Music & Lyrics by Chris Cornell. From the album Badmotorfinger.
On "Mind Riot" every string is tuned to E. Cornell explained that even though they made it work on the record, playing the song live is difficult because all the guitars have to be tuned to E. According to Cornell, they sounded "awful" so he would just perform it alone.
Cornell explained that the lyrics is about his feelings when he heard that America was going to war (1st Gulf War). After spending several days in isolation in his cabin in Seattle, he jumped in his car feeling happy and excited about their new album (Badmotorfinger). He turned on the radio and found out about the war and it shocked and scared him.
