Stevie Wonder had an absurd stretch of fantastic albums in the 70s, but if I could pick only one, this would be it. On Innervisions he first expanded both musically and lyrically, and created one of the best and most important albums of all time. Every song here is a classic, but I have always loved the quiet one ("Visions") just a little bit more than the rest.

Not a big fan of Stevie Wonder's music generally, but this album is the business. Not a duffer on it. Solid gold from start to finish.

There aren't too many albums I would describe as "perfect," but this is one. Every song is excellent, the performances are all top notch (he played all the instruments on 7 of 9 tracks!), the arrangements and production/mix are robust and full but retain a sense of richness and clarity so that you can hear every fine detail and there's a sense of thematic unity that helps the album hold together a bit better than a couple of his other great albums. I make the last statement only to explain why I consider Innervisions to be just a notch above some of his other LPs. It's hard to pick a best from an artist who had such an incredible peak, but I think I would rate Innervisions as Stevie's best.

I go back and forth between this and songs in the key of life being my favorite Stevie album, i think innervisions has the edge for me.

This is a fantastic album, it was another building block towards his magnum opus, Songs in the Key of Life. The great artists continually progress their sound to reach their potential as an artist/group, and Stevie in the mid-70s was one of the best artists around, clearly at his peak.

I'm afraid I think this whole album is sublime-but I wouldn't want to suggest Talking Book and Songs in the Key of Life and Hotter than July were not the work of a genius also.

If there was any justice in the world this album would be bigger than Thriller - it's certainly a better showcase of pop songwriting.

One of those rare albums where I have no doubts about clicking 'love' on every single track. Incredible songwriting.

Innervisions and Fullfillingness First Finale are both better than Talking Book in my opinion. I'm even starting to like FFF better than Innervisions. Stevie is such a genius that it wouldn't surprise me if next month I come back saying that Talking Book is definitely the best. He's just too good and his awesomeness keeps coming at you from everywhere haha. It's hard to handle.

Great album-- one of the very best of the '70s. Now, why does Last.fm have every track available for listening except for the brilliant "He's Misstra Know It All"?
