If any song from "Purple" sounds like a continuation from the debut of "Core" I think it'd be this song just because of the driving groove to the verse riff... has that sort of vibe, that said I think it's probably the only track on the album Id say that about. As a whole this record is very different (like all STP records)

Definitely one of their best songs. Probably my favorite from Purple which is to me the masterpiece album of STP.

DeLeo is definitely a solid guitar player. Excellent structure here. The whole album is great.

@jumhed, I think the grunge scene was far from 'dying on it's arse' when 'Core' was released in September 1992. In fact it was released the same day as Alice In Chains seminal grunge masterpiece 'Dirt'. I do agree with you that they rock though!

They get abuse in the press because they were a deriative grunge band who rode in hugely backed by a major/corporate record label as the scene was dying on it's arse. 'Once you see a bandwagon, it's too late.' Maybe not too late for success, but too late for respect/intergrity. That said, they definitely rock.
