"Sorry, I Love You" is a somber song about the narrator of the song being in love with a friend of theirs but keeps their feelings a secret as confessing might jeopardize the friendship.
The song was written by Changbin with a friend of his, In the video "Stray Kids " Changbin explains the song:
"You like this friend of yours, but once you tell them about it, you are scared that you may not be friends anymore. It’s something everyone can relate to and I think that it’s something that everyone has experienced at least once. Ultimately, I think it’s about how one isn’t able to confess their feelings, unable to express their feelings – that’s what the song tries to describe.
The lyrics describe something youthful yet something sad."
