Biography

Stronghold in Siam was born in a basement in the fall of 2004 as an artistic outlet for a few friends. After four years of concentrated artist development, the band’s infectious blend of guitar-driven and harmony-laden power pop has earned them a loyal following throughout the northeast. The band started gaining momentum in the winter of 2006 as “the Stronghold” was chosen over two hundred Boston-area bands to become finalists in the Emergenza Music Festival, where they were touted as “a great acoustic rock band with a wall-of-sound style.” Since then, Stronghold in Siam has toured New England, entertaining crowds in New Hampshire, Vermont, upstate New York and Rhode Island. They appeal to the mass-market while maintaining a unique sound.

The band is fronted by Andrew Gregory on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. His influences range from Steely Dan and Dave Matthews to Nickelback and Rascal Flatts. Andrew is responsible for writing several of Stronghold’s songs.

Pete Hunt is Stronghold’s principal songwriter and lead guitarist. Pete also sings backing vocals. His influences include Eric Clapton, Billie Joe Armstrong, Trey Anastasio, and contemporary country artist Keith Urban.

Adam Fisher is Stronghold’s bassist. He has been influenced by the Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, Third Eye Blind, and other late 90s greats.

Nick Mathews is the band’s drummer and primary contact. He is the band’s lyricist and also sings backing vocals. His primary influence is Keith Moon of The Who.
