Biography

SunCircle formed as a project between long time friends Jason Pettitt, and Jason Gregory. In 2002, the two formed SunCircle and began work on what would be the makings of the bands first recordings. SunCircle went through several iterations and a couple of creative hiatus in the early years while searching for a solid lead singer. In 2007 when Laura McCauley joined the group SunCircle was reborn! With McCauley’s pounding vocals and excellent melody driven lyrics, Gregory’s Led Zeppelin and alternative rock influenced acoustic and electric riffs, and Pettitt’s vast array of drumming prowess the three set out to create new material. SunCircle decided to write from a mix of all their influences and create a fresh, unique, and multi-genre sound that is quite accessible to a wide range of audiences. SunCircle’s early music was a blend of alternative and classic rock influences. SunCircle has gradually expanded their sound to include a variety of genres including southern rock, jazz, and blues sounds. SunCircle’s first demo was recorded in 2008 at Chris Henderson’s (of Three Doors Down) Rivergate Studios. It included “Afraid to Loose”, “The Difference”, “By My Side”, and “Broken”. The three continued to write, and hone their sound playing locally with friends and session players filling in for the needed bass position in hopes of finding a suitable fit. In 2009, when Bryan Walsh joined SunCircle filling up the empty bass position the sound was complete encompassing their combined experience of decades of writing, and hundreds of local and national shows. SunCircle has since written 16 new songs to be chosen and recorded for their freshman album due early 2011. An early release of SunCircle’s single “My Love” is due this September. SunCircle is currently recording at Omega Labs In Nashville, Tn. and is presently considering a recording contract offer from a national indie label.

SunCircle influences are:

Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Rush, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Beatles, Sade, Etta James, The Black Crowes, Zero 7, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Creed, 311, and Incubus
