“Blind” serves as another angle of a Failure-like message, where a man, presumably Gira, starts strong, but naive, being blind to his surroundings, thinking he can't be stopped. As he gets older, he realizes how weak he is, he had deceived himself using his confidence to become blind to the fact he was a failure and still is. His arrogance had led to his downfall and failure, he is blind.
This song was a throwaway from the "White Light From the Mouth of Infinity" sessions. It did not appear on the original 1991 release, instead, it was originally used as the final track of Michael Gira’s solo album, Drainland in 1995, and reissued under the Swans name via Various Failures.
