(2) Girl gets plucked from record shop and thrust into successful singing career. Unlikely story? Not for Tada. The 26 year old singer / songwriter from South London would spend hours in her local record shop Maestro records, chatting to the owner about her vocal prowess and her dreams of becoming an established singer. He was so impressed with her enthusiasm and vocal ability, that he passed Tada’s demo into the hands of Award winning producer Neville Thomas from 2b3 Records. Thomas who has created hits for Beverley Knight as well as producing classic remixes for artists such as Brandy, D’Angelo and Jodeci was in the process of starting 2b3 and had no qualms about signing Tada as his fist act. “It was such a good feeling getting signed to 2b3. They really believe in me as an artist and I just want to deliver.” Say’s Tada enthusiastically.

Tada was born and raised in South East London to Jamaican / Nigerian parents. She was always singing as a child and was heavily influenced by the likes of Mary J Blige, Aretha Franklin and Faith Evans. Her soul/ RnB roots can be heard in her debut album, In Honour of Soul. The melodic set has snippets for everyone with the positive, infectious Keep Your Head Up to the up-tempo vibrant A Little Bit. The aforementioned song which was produced by Neville and co-written with Tada is also featured in the forthcoming film Prodigals, a short film produced for Lambeth Council to address the high number of young people who leave home without being aware of the risks and the responsibilities of coping on their own. As well being recognised locally, Tada’s first promo single Grab on Hold was released to radio and gained explosive reviews from Choice FM, Kiss 100 and Galaxy radio, thus giving her national recognition.

When she is not singing, people person Tada loves spending time with her family and close friends. Her mixed heritage has given her the capacity to relate to people on all levels and conversating is something she enjoys. Her ability to get into people’s hearts is reflected in her lyrics and has enabled her to pen songs about situations that she may not have been in.

With In Honour of Soul about to drop and a second album being conceived in the studio, it’s evident that Tada is one to watch.
