1989 (Taylor's Version) is the fourth re-recorded album of Taylor Swift's fifth studio album, 1989, being released on October 27th, 2023. The re-recording is Swift's counter measure against the changed ownership of the masters to her first six studio albums. It features a set of 5 unreleased tracks from the 1989 era billed as "From The Vault".

The first promotional single, "Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version)", was teased in the trailer for the film "Spirit Untamed" in March 2021. The single was later released on September 17, 2021 confirming that the album was in the works.

A second promotional single "This Love (Taylor's Version)" was released on May 6, 2022 and featured in the Amazon Prime Original series '"The Summer I Turned Pretty". A merchandise collection was released on May 5, 2022 along with the announcement of "This Love (Taylor's Version)".

Another promotional single, the re-recording of "Bad Blood", was featured in the movie "DC: League of Super-Pets", which released in July 2022, though Taylor had yet to release it on streaming services.

On August 9th 2023, Taylor Swift announced the release for "1989 (Taylor's Version)" at her last show of the Eras Tour's first North American Leg at SoFi Stadium in LA.

With the release date of October 27th, "1989 (Taylor's Version)" will be released on the 9th anniversary of the original album.

Around September 18th and September 20th Taylor carried out a puzzle scrambling game along Google with a total of 89 different puzzle words to solve, once the game reached a total of 33 million of answers all around the world four out of five of the vault tracks for 1989 (Taylor's Version) were revealed and the last one being revealed in a vault promotional video uploaded by Taylor in social media, the names of the new tracks being "Slut!", Is It Over Now, Now That We Don't Talk, Say Don't Go, and Suburban Legends.
