BROADWAY'S LONGEST-RUNNING NIGHTCLUB ACT IS EXTENDED FOR ANOTHER YEAR AT THE IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB IN NEW YORK CITY!

"It's a gloomy world out there, but with Terese Genecco & her Little Big Band in the house, it's a whole lot brighter!" ~San Francisco Examiner

Terese Genecco & her 8-piece *little big band* are currently headlining in an open-ended run at The Iridium Jazz Club on Broadway near Times Square in New York City. They appear there on the last Tuesday of every month.

TERESE GENECCO (pronounced Teh-REECE Jeh-NECK-oh) jumped to national prominence in 2005 with her critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning jazz/musical creation, "Drunk With Love: A Tribute To Frances Faye!" Genecco has been charming audiences and critics alike, nationwide, ever since.

Genecco was named to Time Out New York Magazine’s Top Ten Best Cabaret Artists of the Year list in 2006 and 2007 (in the company of jazz great PAULA WEST and the legendary EARTHA KITT and JACK JONES) and was awarded a 2007 Back Stage Bistro Award for Best Tribute Show. The 2008 MAC Award for Best Recording (Manhattan Assoc. of Cabarets & Clubs) went to Genecco's debut CD. Genecco also won the 2009 MAC Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist and received a 2009 OutMusic Award last December. She was nominated for yet another MAC Award this year in the MAJOR ARTIST category.

In addition to her monthly headlining performances at The Iridium, Terese just debuted her brand new "ELVIS '56!" show at the famed NYC cabaret/piano bar "Don't Tell Mama" in NYC featuring the Wyndham Hill Recording Artist and guitar virtuoso, Sean Harkness, as musical director. Genecco also performs in New York at the annual Cabaret Convention at Rose Hall at Jazz @ Lincoln Center, The legendary jazz club Birdland, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Tribeca Performing Arts Center, The Bergen Performing Arts Center in New Jersey, and B.B. King Blues Club & Grill.

In the San Francisco - Bay Area, where Genecco was named "Entertainer of the Year" in a cabaret competition in 2003, she has headlined at the legendary Great American Music Hall, The Main Stage for San Francisco Pride, The Palace of Fine Arts, The Herbst Theatre, The Post Street Theater, ODC Theater, The New Conservatory Theater Center, The Plush Room, Jazz At Pearl's, Yoshi's Jazz Club in Oakland, and during most of 2008 appeared as a weekly Saturday night headliner at The Rrazz Room in the Hotel Nikko. Genecco relocated to New York City in 2009.

Other notable appearances include singing with the legendary Les Paul and his trio at The Iridium NYC in April 2009, opening for Grammy-Award Winning producer/vocalist Steve Tyrell at the Bergen PAC, headlining the famed Fillmore Street Jazz Festival in San Francisco and at The Peppermill Hotel & Casino in Reno. Terese also performs annually in Hollywood where she features her Southern California *little big band* starring the legendary Latin percussionist, Jack “Mr. Bongo” Costanzo.

At The Iridium each month, Genecco features a different "Special Guest Star" on stage with the band. Last month featured "The Legend" STEVE ROSSI (the now 77 year old member of the famed comedy duo ALLEN & ROSSI.) This month features Grammy Nominee MICHAEL BERKOWITZ on drums. Mike has played drums for superstars like Billy Joel, Elton John, Linda Eder, and Bette Midler. He has just returned from touring the world as Liza Minnelli's musical director and drummer and appeared with her on Broadway in "Liza's At The Palace." Next month's Special Guest Star will be Broadway Diva KAREN MASON (Mamma Mia, Sunset Boulevard) followed by Platinum Singer/Lyricist MARK WINKLER in July. Past guest stars have included Emmy winning comedian JUDY GOLD, Grammy winning trumpet player LEW SOLOFF, Obie and Drama Desk winning actor/jazz vocalist LEA DeLARIA, and The Marvelous MARILYN MAYE!
