Texta is an Austrian Hip Hop group consisting of the MCs Flip (Philipp Kroll), Huckey (Harald Renner), Laima (Klaus Laimer), Skero (Martin Skerwald) and DJ Dan (Daniel Reisinger). Existing since 1993 they have released 8 albums so far: Gediegen (1997), Gegenüber (1999), Blickwinkel (2002), So oder so (2004), Paroli (2007), Grotesk (2011) and Nichts dagegen, aber (2016). After the death of rapper Huckey in 2018, who was one of the founding members of the band, it was unclear if Texta would continue making music. Fortunately for all their fans, the trio now consisting of DJ Dan, Flip and Laima decided to continue the band and they released their recent album Mehr oder weniger in 2021.

Due to creative and personal differences, Skero left the band in 2013.
In 2018, the band announced the death of founding member Huckey.
They have worked together with artists like jurassic 5, louie austen, attwenger, blumentopf and total chaos.

Besides their 8 full length studio albums, the band has been part of several other projects. Together with Blumentopf and Total Chaos they formed the supergroup Kaleidoskop and released the Kaleidoskop EP in 2001. In 2006, they participated in the project Die Unsichtbaren (album: Schwarze Erde). Their first live album Sweet 16 (2009) was released to celebrate 16 years of Texta. In 2013, their best of XX was released, including b-sides and unreleased tracks. The same year, Texta wrote the short rap soundtrack for the play Max 'N' Morizz (2015), a modernized version of Wilhelm Busch's famous Max und Moritz story. 2 years later in 2015, Texta colaborated with Munich's Blumentopf for the project T'n'T on the album #HMLR.

Their best known songs are "Sprachbarrieren", "(So schnö kaunnst gor net) Schaun! - feat. Attwenger", "Fragestunde", "Hediwari" & "So oder so".
