Biography
The Advisory Circle is Cate Brooks (also known for her music under the Café Kaput moniker and formerly as King of Woolworths), a part of the Ghost Box label. Her music reflects the electronic soundtracks of the Public Information Films and Programmes for Schools and Colleges of British 70s TV.
Six records have been released on Ghost Box so far: the EP Mind How You Go in 2005 and the full-length albums Other Channels (2008), As The Crow Flies (2011), which saw the introduction of acoustic instrumentation into the usual synthesizer work, while 2014's From Out Here would see a darker tonal shift. 2018 saw the release of Ways Of Seeing, and Cate's 6th and most recent album, Full Circle, emerged in 2022. Both albums heralded a return to vibrant Library and Hauntological music stylings.
