After releasing three EPs (My Thoughts on You, Heaven, and tryhard), The Band Camino’s debut album was released on September 10, 2021. In an Instagram post thanking fans for listening to Roses, the caption said “debut album era already hitting different,” leading fans to believe that Roses is the lead single off The Band CAMINO. Along with Roses, TBC was preceded by singles 1 Last Cigarette,Sorry Mom, and Know It All. The week of the album’s release, promotional singles I Think I Like You and Who Do You Think You Are? were dropped.
The album’s title and tracklist were first teased in an Instagram post on June 23, 2021 while the album’s cover art was revealed during the band’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in May. The album’s title and release date were formally announced in an Instagram post on June 25, 2021.
In an interview with Alt Press after the record’s release, The Band Camino's member Jeffery Jordan called the album the “pinnacle of existence.”
