i like george, but his songs really sabotage this album for me…”for you blue” is such nothing, and “i me mine” is good but definitely would’ve fit white better. they really effed up by rehearsing “all things must pass” a couple times then ditching it, it would’ve fit this album *perfectly* and made it even better…

Abbey Road flows better but this has better songs imo so i prefer this one. Great album for sure.

According to Geoff Emerick, Spector took the original eight track tapes and bounced the Beatles performances onto just two tracks, leaving six for all the overdubs. Insane way of working.

the new mix is great, i used to not like let it be too much, but this new mix has brought a new light for me.

I used to think this was super underwhelming after a string of really elaborate albums, but after watching the first episode of Get Back, I'm starting to really love the simplicity of this one. Feels like it's just them hanging out, going through all the different eras of their work.

No, yeah, no. There's a couple of great tracks in there, but this album is not very good. It's so uneven. Prudction is fine, Spector knew his stuff, but nah. Could've maybe been an EP.

Curious thing. I had this album on my playlist and it came on unexpectedly. I didn't reconize it immediately, but it sounded good. I rescind my statement. This is a good album. I guess I was dissapointed because initially it wasn't what I expected. Sometimes you just have to let it be for a while and then take another listen.

It took me a long time to enjoy this album - it felt so half baked in places. It's really, really grown on me and I appreciate the guitar work and the songwriting a lot more now. Two of Us is incredible!

title track, across the universe and get back are among the best beatles songs; two of us and ive got a feeling are sweet, classic tunes and the little interludes dig it and maggie mae make the tracklist feel much more fresh. phil spector may not be george martin, but the material is enough to make this album extraordinary

There's no way this album deserves the negativity it gets. If it had come out in early '69 between The White Album and Abbey Road as originally planned it wouldn't get the hate it doed. Phil Spector's infamous production isn't even as bad as people say aside from The Long and Winding Road which is over done. Not their best record but still a great album with several great songs. Across The Universe is one of the finest Lennon written Beatle songs and the title track is one of McCartney's best compositions.

I look at this as a great album, but a poor album when viewed as the last one released by The Beatles. It's so stripped back after a lot of experimentation so it's such an odd note to end on.

The Beatles are my absolute favorite band but man, I truly despise this album. Other than the title track, I cannot stand any other song, with The Long and Winding Road being the most unbearable. The Naked version is a smidgen better but still so far removed from anything in the Beatles catalogue.

This is cheesy/cringey as hell but I really grew to appreciate this album from Beatles Rock Band...I'd never really listened through but playing the songs made me really love them!

Phil Spector's production work (despite Paul hating it), saved this project from total ruin. These songs would have been lost forever if he hadn't chipped in. The fact that he is now a murderous creep does not take away the understanding that he put a lot of effort into making this album worth your buck. Replacing George Martin must have been a huge burden anyway, and John and George wanted Spector to do it.

Thank you! I've been saying similar things for a while and everybody has just continued to pile on about Spector "ruining" the album etc.

Such a letdown after the tremendously genre-bending albums which preceded it. Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's, Magical Mystery Tour, White Album, Abbey Road ... and then this. Still, it's a good album, but The Beatles were clearly out of steam at this point. It's hard to imagine that they actually recorded Abbey Road AFTER this one. Shows that they had much more left in the tank.

Which I think was suggested by both John and George, but Paul wanted to keep the group together. Paul has said in interviews that he regrets not letting the group taking a rest, and he wished he hadn't pushed the group so hard, but perhaps that's why they were so great.

Let It Be... Naked is just kind of a cash-in, IMO. Phil Spector is a nutjob murderer, but he's also a musical genius. The recording sessions for this album were an unmitigated disaster and he was able to cut together a great record out of that clusterfuck. Are some of his embellishments superfluous? Sure, and you can criticize Spector all you want for adding strings and so forth, but bear in mind there wouldn't even have BEEN an album without him, so to release a version of the album that supposedly presents the album the way the band envisioned it is disingenuous, because there really WASN'T a vision for the album, which is why the recordings were abandoned and the sessions ended.

Aún así el Let it… naked suena mucho mejor, en mi opinión Spector estaba haciendo un disco para los '60s, esto se nota sobre todo en Across the Universe, The Long and Winding Road; Con orquestaciones muy al estilo de Jacques Brel, Sinatra, The Walkers Brothers, o incluso el primer disco David Bowie

It's basically the Beatles doing their pre-Rubber Soul era... and only doing it slightly better.

Might not be their technically best album, but it's my favorite just for being the one I most enjoy as a whole.
