https://www.allmusic.com/album/chantilly-lace-mw0000319070/user-reviews May someone please confirm this? Huge claim right here and I'm skeptical about it. It seems like the guy who wrote this is full of it!

Nevermind, the guy who wrote that review is a storytelling phony. I looked him up, he even has his own thread on the Kiwi Farms forum. That tells you something isn't right about him.

Sadly, he was only a novelty act and he probably have faded into obscurity into the 1960s. However, I might be wrong and he could have underestimated us all. He did have potential and it's too bad we never got a chance to know what he had in store beyond 1959. R.I.P. Big Bopper!

JP, Buddy and Ritchie may not have lived very long but their music will live on forever.

This singer/musician had a very unique voice & sound which made many radio listeners of the 'baby boomer' generation of the 50s & 60s some fond memories. His legacy continues on recordings, radio play & the internet of course. Check out his Biography on www.findagrave.com <click on Famous Grave Search. Rest in PEACE. God bless~!

RIP. I remember buying the Purple People Eater when it first came out. Not great art, but enormous fun. The guy was pretty decent. RIP.
